The Strategic Institute for Intersectional Policy and Practice (SIIPP) was founded by Dr. GS Potter in 2016 as The Strategic Institute for Instersectional Policy (SIIP) Dr. Potter is a lifelong community member, ally and advocate.  She has spent decades in the field as a community journalist, organizer, educator, and strategist. She has worked extensively on voting rights, poverty, housing & homelessness, police brutality, gun violence, immigration, environmental justice, maternal health, education, LGBTQ+ rights, gender spectrum inclusivity, food insecurity, Indigenous sovereignty and security, disability rights,  and civil rights.

She prioritizes intersected no- and low-income BIPOC communities.  In contrast to the Marxist presentation of Intersectionality, Dr. Potter's approach rejects the assertion that political movements should be centered on the white working class and advocates for models of reform and resistance that promote the leadership, wisdom, and struggles of melaninated communities living below the line of economic opportunity.

She holds a PhD. from the University of Washington in Seattle where she conducted research on the co-optive relationships between transnational political strategy, national policy, and communities targeted for marginalization. After launching successful campaigns against the Trump Administration and publishing ground-breaking work on their ties to Russia, the Administration successfully pursued her removal from major publishing platforms.

Subsequently, Dr. Potter went on to continue her work as a freelance strategist, consultant and journalist.  She also complemented this policy-based work with active ground-level efforts to support communities being stripped of their rights and security by Trump and the Republican Party.

In 2026, Dr. Potter made the decision to re-launch SIIP as SIIPP in order to provide information, strategies and support for people, organizations and networks to defend Democracy, dismantle white supremacy, and develop an intersected and inclusive pathway forward.
